Yellow-fronted Barbet
Megalaima flavifrons
Identification - Endemic to Sri Lanka. Smaller than the Common Brown-headed Barbet. Golden yellow forehead , brownish crown and nape, bluish face and throat and a golden yellowish stripe starting from the base of the bill. Upper parts greenish, underparts - breast, belly light greenish. Bill and feet pale grey coloured. Distributed throughout Low country Wet Zone upto mid hills. Can be seen on fruity trees.
Nesting - Nest in tree holes.
